Silly Little Survey

Filed under: — Kate @ 6:25 pm EST

Well, I don’t have a cat to Friday cat blog, so I thought I’d make up a silly little survey instead.

1) What album(s) have been on your rotation in the past week?

2) What’s the last concert you’ve been to? (I don’t care if it was in an arena, a coffee house, or a concert hall.)

3) What image is on your mouse pad?

4) Do you have any pets?

5) Kirk or Picard?

6) What did you want to be when you grew up?

7) What’s the last movie you saw in a theater? Did you like it?

8) How many pairs of shoes do you own? How many do you think I have?

9) Coke or Pepsi?

10) Do you ever hear strange voices? If so, what do they say?

Well, that’s enough silliness for today. I just thought it would be fun to ask some random questions. Answer truthfully or lie your ass off, whichever you prefer. Hey lurkers, why not throw in your two cents? I know you’re out there; I can see the statistics. You can always post anonymously. I’ll answer my own questions on Sunday. Right now I’ve gotta leave work before happy hour is over. Have a good weekend!

UPDATE: Thanks guys. Thought I’d wait a little longer before answering in case anyone else wants to comment.

UPDATE #2: At least one person was having troubles with posting here yesterday (Monday), so if anyone else had that issue, I’m sorry! It should be working now.

UPDATE #3: I finally answered my own questions. Sorry for the delay. I wanted to wait a little longer, and then I ended up having a hellish few days of work.

I’ve returned to my BNL kick, listening to Everything to Everyone and Maroon.

    2) What’s the last concert you’ve been to? (I don’t care if it was in an arena, a coffee house, or a concert hall.)

  3. Manchild Says:

    1) Have stopped listening to music.
    2) Nick Cave and the bad seeds, a few months ago
    3) I have a state of the art laser mouse thing, so I don’t use pads.
    4) Nope. Never have and never will.
    5) Kirk is cooler but gets people killed easier. I’m going to go with Holz on this and say I’d follow Sisko into hell and back.
    6) A writer.
    7) Assault on Precinct 13. Meh, yeah, kinda liked it. Before that, Constantine, which I liked a LOT.
    8) I have about 5 or 6 which I wear all the time, (if you include gym shoes). If you’re like most women, too damn many. I’ll take a middlin average, and say… 25 pairs?
    9) I never drink Cola of any description.
    10) Not strange, no. They are very familiar to me, those disembodied voices. They usually just say my name, or tell me to hire more people, or something banal.

Killers Hot Fuss and a mix CD that Tom made me

Um, do I have to answer this? Probably Picard I guess…

    6) What did you want to be when you grew up?
An archeologist or a forensic pathologist

    7) What’s the last movie you saw in a theater? Did you like it?
Fever Pitch, it was cute and fun. I enjoyed Constantine more though when we saw that.

    8) How many pairs of shoes do you own? How many do you think I have?
Me = not enough, You = not enough. We both need to go buy more shoes.

    9) Coke or Pepsi?
    COKE!!!!

    10) Do you ever hear strange voices? If so, what do they say?
I do sometimes hear this strange voice that tells me how long we have until Episode 3 comes out. No…wait…yeah, that’s just Tom.

  5. Edo Says:

    1) What album(s) have been on your rotation in the past week?
Django Reinhardt - Djangologie; Kaiser Chiefs - Employement; Sergent Garcia - La Semilla Escondida; Jack Johnson - In Between Dreams.

    2) What’s the last concert you’ve been to?
    Local legend Kenn Kweder!

    3) What image is on your mouse pad?
An adorable blacn and white puppy dog. Even with a cordless optical mouse, I like using a pad for long-term comfort.

    4) Do you have any pets?
Nope. Would like to, except for that whole responsility thing; had enough of that as a kid.

    5) Kirk or Picard?
Lesser of two evils is Picard; Kirk is a walking plague.

    6) What did you want to be when you grew up?
Wealthy. No matter what the source of income (lottery, drugs, monopolistic practices, or monkey slave labor)

    7) What’s the last movie you saw in a theater? Did you like it?
Don’t go the theater often; too expensive for too high a potential of an unsatisfactory experience due to annoying people, poor audio/video setup, and shortened versions of movies (I’m looking at you, Peter Jackson). Pretty certain the last movie I saw in a theater was Breakfast at Tiffany’s, anyway.

    8) How many pairs of shoes do you own? How many do you think I have?
A fair bunch, though I wear about 4 pairs. I was forbidden to count the amount of shoes you have, but I’ll say that they could abundantly cover the surface of our bedroom floor if laid side to side.

    9) Coke or Pepsi?
What’s up with the reductivist bilinear questions? I despise Pepsi, and will happily marry Coke to rum, but I’d rather have Dr. Pepper.

    10) Do you ever hear strange voices? If so, what do they say?
I refuse to answer questions pertaining to my mental health without a guarantee of confidentiality.

  8. Kate Says:

    1) What album(s) have been on your rotation in the past week?
The Postal Service: Give Up, Bruce Springsteen: Devils and Dust, Killers: Hot Fuss, Green Day: American Idiot, Ramones: Hey! Ho! Let’s Go: The Anthology. Guess I should update that on the main page… Also a pretty random mp3 mix.

    2) What’s the last concert you’ve been to? (I don’t care if it was in an arena, a coffee house, or a concert hall.)
Kenn Kweder, I guess? And before that Keane.

    3) What image is on your mouse pad?
At work: Stupid Dell logo. I’ve been meaning to bring in a cool U2 mouse pad from the last tour (shaped like a suitcase).
At home: black and white photo of an adorable sleeping puppy. And no, I didn’t pick it out. :-D

    4) Do you have any pets?
I wish. For now, I live vicariously through others.

    5) Kirk or Picard?
    Picard.

    6) What did you want to be when you grew up?
    An astronaut.

    7) What’s the last movie you saw in a theater? Did you like it?
Geez, it’s been so long I can’t remember. Let’s see… we went to this cool Secret Cinema thing last month. They showed a bunch of old travel films on a 16mm projector. It was really cool. Breakfast at Tiffany’s before that. The last first run movie I saw was probably Spanglish back in December. I liked it–was better than expected. But I could have done without the completely idiotic sex scene (especially since I went with Mom and Grandma…). The next film will most definitely absolutely be Episode III. *rubs hands together with devilish glee*

    8) How many pairs of shoes do you own? How many do you think I have?
I don’t know and I’ll never tell. Seriously though? I’ve never counted. They say that the first step in overcoming an addiction is admitting you have a problem, right? So I figure, as long as I don’t know how many I have, I can never really know if I have a problem. That said, I think I can safely say that it’s more than 3 dozen (which was the highest number guessed).

    9) Coke or Pepsi?
Coke all the way, baby! No one ever heard of a Captain and Pepsi.

    10) Do you ever hear strange voices? If so, what do they say?
All my life I’ve been hearing voices tell me to go to bed earlier. But I don’t ever listen.
