T-24 Hours and Counting

Filed under: — Kate @ 4:16 pm EST

Edo’s mom (the UMIL) arrives tomorrow at 3:50 PM. I’ve taken the day off to clean my apartment, stress over little things, and generally freak out.

Will she make you yummy Italian food at least? Because that might be worth the stress. If your Tom or I. = )

  2. Stan Says:

Whatever you do, don’t call it sauce. It’s gravy. Say it with me GRAVY.

  3. Kate Says:

Eh, maybe. Edo’s family is Northern Italian, so their cuisine isn’t the “yummy Italian food” you might imagine.

And Stan, it wouldn’t be sauce or gravy: it’s salsa.

  4. Stan Says:

Ah crap. Well then my only advice is to not let her read your blog. She’ll see what kinds of people you associate with and then disown you.

Yeah… we’re actually going to create an alternate version for her to read. With all references to her deleted! It probably wouldn’t be good if she discovered that I call her the “un-mother-in-law.”

  6. Stan Says:

    Is that like an un-birthday?

Ehhhhhh, not really. Un-birthdays are supposed to be fun.

It basically means that she comes with all the qualities of a real mother-in-law, but without that little detail that involves an actual marriage.

I hope she’s not very good with computers. A simple Google of you and E’s names attached to Philly brings you right up…

  9. Kate Says:

    Oh yeah? Hmmmm…..

She’s not big into the internet because they still have a 14.4 dial-up in the motherland. I doubt she’ll bother Googling something like that.

And anyway, it’s not like I’ve said anything really insulting.

But still, that’s of interest to me.

PS - Au contraire…Northern Italian food is very yummy, just about everything food related coming off that boot-shaped peninsula is.

I suppose it really depends on the specific dishes. I’ll let you know if she makes us anything.
