Toil and Trouble

Filed under: — Kate @ 11:48 am EST

I have less than a week to come up with Halloween costumes for Edo and myself. I’m not really excited about dressing up, but my aunt is having a Halloween party on Saturday and it means a lot to her. And I know that once I put on the costume, I’ll probably have fun.

But I have no clue what to do. Maybe you guys can help?

Here are some stipulations:
–Easy: We don’t have a car and don’t plan on renting one before this weekend, so all of the items have to be easy to obtain.
–Cost: The cheaper the better. New apartment + new computer + 5 concerts in one month = Kate is broke.
–No masks: we want to be able to see/talk/eat without any hindrance.
–Nothing too risqué or off color: my parents will see it.

The more original and creative the better, but I suppose we can’t be too picky at this point.

Any ideas?

Full Moon: Black Sweatsuit/tights + scissors = black buttless chaps.

Tarzan & Jane: Leopard print fabric from Wal-mart or wherever + scissors = only as risque as you want it to be.

OOh wait, I just thought of this. Get one black sweatsuit for each of you and only cut the cheek of one each and then it’s a half moon unless you’re standing next to eachother. :) Glad I could help.

I had fun with my One Night Stand costume last year, cost like 20 bucks… all it was was a dresser and lampshade for a hat.

Can you get your hands on a nurses outfit/doctor’s outfit? Those are pretty starightforward.

One of my favorites is to arrive to the party in only a pair of jeans, and say your premature ejaculation. When people look at you weird, just say, “Well, as you can clearly see, I just came in my pants.”

    I love you guys.

Stan, I’m not sure if assless pants are right for me… definitely not for Edo!!

    The tarzan idea isn’t bad.

    Holz, very cute.

Doctor/nurse won’t really work because my parents went as doctor/patient last year. I came up with that for them, actually.

What about a social butterfly? Any dress, cheap wings that you cover in sayings like “have my people call your people” “let’s do lunch” etc.

Also busy bee…bee costume with post-its all over it.

I like the social butterfly idea. :-) Maybe the other person could go as a wall flower.

Social butterfly is one of my favorites. You live all the way across the country though, so I didn’t mind sharing it. = )

Wall flower is a cute counter part.

We just might go with that idea if I can’t think of anything else by tomorrow. Thanks! :-)
